Terms of use
Briefly: be 18 or over, upload only what you are allowed to upload, and treat the people in your feed the way you would treat them at the same table. The rest is the long version.
Last updated: 27 August 20261. Scope
These terms apply between you and ⟨Legal name of the provider⟩ ("we") for the use of the CheersFeed app and this website. By creating an account you accept them.
2. What CheersFeed is
A private social app: you capture moments with two cameras and they go to your confirmed friends. CheersFeed is free. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases and no ad space. There is no claim to uninterrupted availability — we run the app to the best of our ability, not under an uptime guarantee.
3. Account and minimum age
- Use is permitted from 18 years of age. By creating an account you confirm that you have reached it.
- An account belongs to one person. Do not share your credentials.
- Your details must be accurate — in particular the email address we use to reach you.
- Your @handle must not infringe anyone's rights or impersonate anyone. We may withdraw a handle that does.
4. Your content stays yours
Nothing changes about your photos and texts: the rights remain with you. You grant us a simple, non-exclusive, royalty-free and geographically unrestricted licence to store them, process them technically (scaling, for instance) and deliver them to the friends you have confirmed — solely to operate the app. This licence ends when you delete the moment or your account.
We do not use your pictures for advertising, do not pass them to third parties and do not train models on them.
5. What is not allowed
- Content you hold no rights to — and pictures of people who have not agreed to them.
- Hate, harassment, depictions of violence, nudity, sexualised content, anything illegal.
- Content showing minors where alcohol is in the frame.
- Advertising, spam, chain messages, commercial use without our agreement.
- Automated extraction, scraping, rebuilding the API, circumventing rate limits or visibility rules.
- Passing other people's moments outside the app — what someone shows you is not meant for the group chat.
6. Reporting, blocking, moderation
Every moment can be reported and every person blocked. We look at reported content within 24 hours. We may remove content, restrict features and suspend or delete accounts when these terms are breached. For serious or repeated breaches we do so without warning.
7. Alcohol and personal responsibility
CheersFeed asks nobody to drink and rewards no volume. What you drink is your decision and your responsibility, along with everything that follows from it. Don't drive after drinking. More on the age rating page.
8. Availability, moments, data loss
A moment leaving the feed after 24 hours is a feature, not a fault. CheersFeed is not an archive service and not a backup for your photos: we run backups for operations, not as a service to you. Keep what matters to you somewhere else as well.
9. Liability
We are liable for intent and gross negligence, and for damage arising from injury to life, body or health, in accordance with statutory provisions. Beyond that, liability is excluded as far as the law permits. Users are themselves liable for the content they upload.
10. Termination
You can delete your account in the app at any time — here is how. We may terminate the agreement with immediate effect in the event of breaches of section 5. Deletion ends the licence under section 4.
11. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms where there is a valid reason to. We announce material changes at least 30 days in advance in the app or by email. If you do not object before they take effect and keep using the app, they are deemed accepted.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
Swiss law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The place of jurisdiction is ⟨City⟩, Switzerland. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected.
